The Daily Habit: Politics

Raul Castro in Charge- After 50 years of Communisitc, tyrannical rule, Cuba has ushered in a new ruler today (Politics: Raul).  Raul Castro, brother of El Lider Fidel, was chosen by parliament to become the newest president of Cuba, but will things be changing for the better?  Though the elder Castro retired just five days ago, he will be consulted on all major decisions of state.  The hopes for a new Cuba may be but a glimmer as many Cubans will feel little will change.  “The transition was not likely to bring a major shift in policies of the communist government that have put it at odds with the United States. But many Cubans were hoping it would open the door to modest economic reforms and improvement in their daily lives.”  Obviously things are never going to change as long as that wretch Fidel has Cuba in his clutches, however weak his 81 year old body may be.  He’s been a festering blister in  the lives of every Cuban for 50 years and it’s time for that outdated, dictatorial ideology to be replaced by the will of the people.   There’s no room in the world for Communism anymore and maniacs like Castro need to get the hell out.  Once we get rid of him for good, and that rat Chavez, the world will be a much better place.  Maybe then we can enjoy some good La Tropical beer and a much cheaper Cuban cigar to puff on.
